Gotta give it up with ‘cheat sheets’. They went out with Rypien

  2. CozDaddy says:

Considering his strong finish in 2011, the weapons around him, his durability, the division he plays in, and the change in offensive scheme for the Falcons in 2012, Matt Ryan is getting some serious disrespect here. Putting him behind RG3 who’s never played an NFL down is nuts. Roddy White is 4th in your rankings and Julio Jones 9th – who do you suppose is making them that valuable?

IMO Ryan should be no lower than 8th.

I love Charch’s sheet- but curious, are any of the other writers going to be posting their sheets as well?

  4. srl says:

Charch, sorry can’t figure out how the values on your sheet foot…….how many teams with the $100. Tried Calcing for a 10 or 12 team league not even close on having values total the $’s available…….

    • srl says:

guess i should be more clear….my expectation would be a sheet for a 10 team $100 cap, should total $1,000…..or 12 team $1200 and so on……

      • LSMat says:

Not all players on the cheat sheet will be taken in a 10 or 12 team league due to roster sizes (some leagues have 14 players, some have 20 players, if they’re still at a $100 cap that swings value), so it will likely never add up. This gives people a glimpse of what Charch’s value of some of the lower tier players.

a couple quick things……..i don’t care if the cap is $100, $200, or $1,000…….darren mcfadden, doug martin, fred jackson, and 2nd and 3rd tier RBs are not going to be drafted for a significant amount more than aaron rodgers, drew brees, and tom brady…….it doesn’t matter what scoring format, how big the rosters are, or what the cap is…….you can’t take the majority of his cap numbers seriously…..they are a joke……mainly his RB figures.

maybe the top couple numbers for players are accurate for each position, but that is it!! you can compare guys for the tier you think they should be drafted with, but regardless if you have a 10 or 12 man league and 11-14 man rosters it is impossible to draft a team based off his cap numbers accurately…….

if you were to draft a team strictly based off charch’s cap numbers here would be a couple scenarios…….

    1) subtract a minimum $10 from and RB not named foster, rice and mccoy……those 3 i could see guys paying more for or close to his cap number.

    2) if guys are drafted close to the number charch has them at…….70% of each team would have $1 players…….

for the charch cheat sheet lovers…….add up your roster (and all the rosters in the league) after the draft is over, add up the cap figures charch has for each player and it would come out to be closer to a $200 cap than the $100 cap figure he bases his cheat sheet off of…that will give you an indication of how inaccurate his cap numbers are.

take any team you draft in a snake draft and see how close it comes to $100……it will be closer to $200.

in my opinion charch has a formula set up through xcel or something that has a $$ amount pre-determined for the 3 rated QB, the 5 rated RB and the 9th rated WR…….this formula has been predetermined from years past and the formula has not been adjusted in years……if this formula would have been adjusted year to year how are 3-5 players that would be top 15 picks like rodgers, brees, brady, gronkowski, graham under $20 and players that would potentially be picked 40-60 are more expensive or around the same value……not accurate is an understatement.

this formula is set up to make the “do the opposite” look like the best approach ever…….where your overpaying for RBs and your QBs, WRs, TEs are your best values………the reality of it all though is that no auction will ever come close to the values listed on his sheet.

if i can get rodgers, brady, or brees for less than the top 20 RBs……..i want to play in your league.

charch suggests people to draft gronkowski as a late 1st rd pick yet he has 35 players ranked with a higher $$….

i respect the cheat sheet, but get rid of the formula for the $$ amounts.

i did a 10 team mock on CBS, 14 rds and my team added up to $216 on charch’s figures…….

    140 players drafted…..the $1 WR/RB would not even be touched on charch’s cheat sheet as they are all 50+……15-20 QBs,10K, 10 D, 15 TE, 85-90 RB/WR

how can we find rankings on pass defense and run defense and te defense?
